Programme

The ISTCP-VIII Congress will deal with several aspects of Theoretical Chemical Physics including methodological and algorithmic developments in quantum chemistry, electronic structure theory including wavefunction and density functional theories, evaluation of molecular properties, applied quantum chemistry, molecular mechanics, nuclear motion in molecules, chemical reactions, statistical mechanics, and many other problems.


Oral Contributions

Talks are either 20 or 30 min long, except the three Congress Talks which take 50 minutes. In each case the duration includes 5 minutes discussion time.

Slides for oral contributions are collected at the "slides check in" point of the registration desk. Presentation files should be either .pdf or .ppt (.pptx) format. Presentations with sound effects are discouraged. (With special requests, please contact the organizers in advance.)


Posters

Scheduled tentatively for the evenings, poster sessions offer a large number of participants to present their recent results.

Poster boards are 120 cm wide and 160 cm high. The boards are covered with textile. Posters can be fixed with pushpins. Click here to see a photo of a board standing on the stage in the auditorium.

Posters of Session I are to be mounted on 26 August, Monday morning and unmounted on 28 August, Wednesday morning.

Posters of Session II can be mounted from 28 August, Wednesday afternoon. They should be unmounted on 30 August, Friday.

Departure Day

On 31 August, several tours and excursions will be offered by the Event Agent. Click here, to see the list of guided tours.

One bus tour will end in Sopron offering a convenient transportation to the EUCOCC meeting starting on the 1st of September. The price of the tour to Sopron is 70 Eur/person, including a visit to the Archabbey of Pannonhalma, a lunch at Pannonhalma, a visit to the Esterháza palace at Fertőd and some refreshments, offered at Sopron.

Participants of EUCOCC should note, that accommodation included in the registration fee of EUCOCC does not start with the 31st of August. Those who wish to extend their room reservation at Hotel Sopron, should contact the organizers of EUCOCC (euco-cc9 at mke.org.hu) in due time.


Sessions on Versatile Topics

We organize sessions with oral lectures, invited and contributed, covering versatile topics. Invitations are sent out by the organizers. Contributed talks will be selected after the abstract submission deadline, 30 April.
